July 11th: The destination of today is the Greek island of Symi only 14 nautical miles away. After the change of the flag we are in Greece. You have to be early to get a berthing in the small harbour. Gasoline is much cheaper than in Turkey as beer is too. Benedikt stashes away 10 plates!!! He stores them under his mattress!

At the start of the 20th century Symi used to be the captial of the Dodekanes. It is also the center for sponge fishing. Of course we have to buy some sponges as souvenir.

July 12th: Very early in the morning I climb high above Symi. Each house has a stair connection to the next above. It is very easy to loose your way between the high houses.

With very nice sailing wind we reach Marmaris. The distance is roughly 20 nm.

July 13th: "Geriatrix" gets the overdue full bath.

July 14th: Finally the wind blows in our favour and we are able to sail for several hours. We find a nice mooring lace but a gulet comes to close to us. We prefer to move to the next bay. And we meet again with the "Geraldine".

July 15th: At night we meet again in the "Bauernbucht". The water here is cristal clear ideal for swimming and snorkeling.

July 16: Wie head for Fethiye, Brigitte and Benedikt prefer another day in this nice bay. We are lucky we have very nice sailing wind. Now we get back what we had to fight against the last weeks.

July 17: Rainer takes the opportunity and visits the Turkish hairdresser he knows from his visit in Spring. No wonder he prefers him over my hairdressing! Cutting, blowdrying, massage, shaving, facemassage, cleaning out the ears and what else! How can anymore make so much fuss about so few hairs!

Later in the afternoon the "nice weather wind" arrives and takes us back to the Bauernbucht. At night it gets very crowded. It is unbelievable where a gulet squeezes in!

July 18thi: Most of the gulets dissapear early in the morning. Now we have the bay for ourselves again and stay another day. For dinner we try the pancake boat and it is really tasty.
