The small island of Astypalaia is the first one of the Dodekanes. The bay of Vathy is almost an inland sea and therefore protected from all directions.

From faraway we can see the chora on the hill, the village below lies
on the other side of the island. That's where we want to go.

Monday, July 25th - Tuesday, July 26th
It is the time of the Meltemi and it is howling all day long. The swell
on the quay is very bad; we change our place to the next bay. It is
not good but much better.

Should we leave or not? The weather forecast we get from Nils via SMS
sounds ok. The wind is moderate but waves are quite high. But by now
we are even used to that.
