Our boat is terribly dirty because of the yellow rain. Before leaving we give "geriatrix" a quick shower. The mountains of the island of Chios are very clear visible usually not a good sign.

After two hours on our way we get gale warinings from Radio Istanbul and as well from the DWD. We turn round and head for Cesme again.

Next morning the visibility is very bad and the air foggy. Four big warships cross our way - not a very pleasant feeling. The two dolphins also don't seem to like them and dissapear after crossing our way. At two o'clock in the afternoon we reach Plomarion at Lesbos. A French guy on land gives us hand and always shouts "Kalabria". He remembers the "Geraitrix", we have met in Rocella Jonica in Kalabria as well was in Korfu two years ago.

Lesbos is in Greece and we can only stay because the harbour master pretends not to have seen us. Plomarion is no Port of Entry, we have to go to Mytilini first.

Next morning we hop to the main city of the island Mytilini. Again some dolphins cross our way. The last miles to Mytilini are like a minefield: buoys from fishermen everywhere. we are very careful not to get tangled in a fisher net. Mytilini we don't like too much. In general Turkish people are much nicer than Greeks. Tomorrow we want to go again to Plomarion.

In the restaurant with huge plane tree we celebrate our 38th anniversary.

To see more of the island of Lesbos we rent a car. Plomarion itself is surrounded by olive trees. The olive oil from here is famous.Um ein bisschen mehr von Lesbos zu sehen, unternehmen wir mit einem Mietauto eine Inseltour. In der Gegend um Plomarion gibt es sehr viele Olivenhaine, das Öl von hier soll sehr gut sein. The highest mountain is called ...Olympos, like everywhere in greece. The road up there is very bad, even with a rented car we don't want to do this.

Lesbos

At the other end of the island is a petrified forest, very impressive. The museum next to it is brand new and remarkable - for sure built with money from the EU.

The island of Lesbos is very green, there are even real forests. On the way back we visit a nearby monastery, it is totally overgrown.

Another famous product of Plomarion is its Ouzo. It is supposed to be the best of Greece. The destillery is outside Plomarion. We visit the place and try and of course buy some bottles of Ouzo.
