After the various extraterritorial hash activities in Orleans and Weinheim it feels good to be on Geriatri'x' again. This time we are in the company of Jami and Greg. |
We only have a few days together but we will use the time in the best possible ways. |
It is August and this means high season. Most of the marinas are fully booked. It is rather difficult to find a berth. But we all are still in a good mood. |
All of sudden a black clouds rolls directly over us. We have no other choice but to reach the next bay and anchor. |
The restaurant on shore doesn't look very promising but actually turns out to be a very good one. It's just that our little zodiac is a bit too small for four adults when the wind is blowing and the sea is rough. When we return to Geriatri'x' later in the evening we are all pretty wet. There are thunderstorms everywhere around us. Rainer and Greg take the first watch that night 'till they have enough bubbly or beer to decide the thunderstorm is over. |
Next morning the sky looks much friendlier
again.
|
We will try our luck on Unije. The "Quiet Kvarner" is not as quiet as usual and with good wind to sail we soon reach our favourite bay on the little island. |
Although even here there are quite a few
boats, nobody wants "our" buoy.
|
Of course the well-executed manoeuvre has to be celebrated with some bubbly! |
Here is always enough space for everybody.
We spend a whole day with all kind of relaxing activities: The question is what is his favourite activity? |
And the wind on the return trip above the Quiet Kvarner is just perfect - for sailing and to be pulled behind Geriatri'x'.
|
Four knots - that's just what one can manage! |
In the evening we reach Pula, where we meet Jochen and his friends who will take over the boat. In two weeks time we will meet them again somewhere further down in Croatia - inshallah!
|
Our Bubbly Turn ends with a gorgeous trip through the Dolomites and a little detour to Bernadette.
